Corwin's Notes

===== NGC 6358 is the brightest part of an extensive HII region. ESO identifies it with the associated cluster, but JH mentions only the nebula: "F, L, E, vglbM, milky nebulosity, 2' l, 1 1/2' br; close to and almost involves a D *." The double star -- actually a pair of doubles -- includes the brightest stars in the cluster.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 6358 17.5" (6/18/88): faint, small, elongated ~E-W, even surface brightness. A double star is 1.8' WNW consisting of two mag 12 stars at 18" separation E-W.
