Corwin's Notes

===== NGC 5519 is probably also NGC 5570, which see. Dreyer, in the IC2 Notes, reports a correction from Bigourdan to the declination of this object, but there is nothing in the place quoted by Dreyer. Reducing Bigourdan's observation -- from four measurements on 13 May 1896 -- gives exactly the correct declination, so his "correction" must have been due to a mistake on his part.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 5519 17.5" (5/15/99): faint, fairly small, elongated 2:1 WSW-ENE, 0.8'x0.4'. A mag 14.5 star is at the following edge just 20" from the center. Located 2.6' ENE of a mag 11 star. NGC 5514 lies 13.5' NW.
