Corwin's Notes

===== NGC 5179. See NGC 5171. Dreyer incorrectly credits Burnham with this galaxy -- Burnham's description makes it clear that he saw NGC 5171. This was seen, however, by Tempel and Hartwig.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 5179 17.5" (5/27/95): faint, very small, round, 20" diameter. Second brightest in a tight group of five galaxies with brightest member NGC 5171 2.4' WSW.
