===== NGC 5178. This was not seen by Hartwig, nor by the Dearborn observers -- but was picked up by Tempel with a smaller telescope. See NGC 5171 for more.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 5178 17.5" (5/27/95): very faint, small, round, 30" diameter, weak concentration. A mag 12 star is 2.5' NW. Located 7' S of NGC 5171 in a small, rich group of five galaxies and 5.5' ESE of mag 8.1 SAO 100591.
