===== NGC 5036 is clearly identified by Leavenworth's sketch. His position is also pretty good for a change. See also NGC 5039, a neighboring galaxy shown in the same sketch.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 5036 17.5" (6/1/02): very faint, very small, round, 0.4' diameter. With direct vision a slightly brighter 5" core is visible. Forms a pair with difficult NGC 5039 2.6' NE.
