===== NGC 4979 = IC 4198, which see.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 4979 16" LX200 (4/14/07): faint, fairly small, slightly elongated ~E-W, 0.6'x0.45', low even surface brightness. Located 4.6' WSW of mag 6.8 HD 114093. This bright star forms the vertex of a right triangle with NGC 4979 and a mag 10 star 3.6' to its SE. Situated about 4¡ SE of the core of Abell 1656.
