Steve's Notes

===== NGC 4810 48" (5/4/16): at 610x; moderately bright and large, elongated 2:1 ~N-S, 0.8'x0.4', irregular surface brightness with only a slightly brighter core. This galaxy is the southern member of an interacting pair of dwarf irregulars (Magellanic types) with NGC 4809 just 45" N. 18" (3/30/05): very faint, fairly small, elongated 2:1 ~N-S, 0.8'x0.4'. Forms a double system with NGC 4809, which is nearly attached at the north end. Located 10' E of mag 8.4 HD 112130. There is disagreement in catalogues regarding the identifications of these galaxies as the NGC gave only one position for both galaxies.
