Corwin's Notes

===== NGC 4338 = NGC 4310. d'A's RA is just one minute following NGC 4310, and his description is apt. Also, he measured N4310 on three nights (his numbers 80, 164, and 380), and N4338 on only one other night (night 110). This makes it almost certain that his RA on that one night is just one minute too large.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 4338 See observing notes for NGC 4310. Here are my notes on IC 3247, often misidentified as NGC 4438 -- 24" (5/30/16): at 225x; extremely faint, thin edge-on ~5:1 N-S, very low surface brightness, very slightly brighter elongated core, ~45"x9". Only visible part of the time, though pops clearly and can hold for a few seconds.
