Steve's Notes

===== NGC 3836 18" (3/19/04): fairly faint, elongated 3:2 or 2:1 NW-SE, ~0.9'x0.6'. Appears brighter along a major axis NW-SE, surrounded by a rounder, faint halo. A mag 12-13 star is just off the north flank, perhaps 45" from the center.
