===== NGC 3414. A faint companion -- which we now call 2MASX J10511304+2800221 -- was picked up by Bindon Stoney and R.J. Mitchell with LdR's 72-inch reflector. See the "notngc" files under "NGC 3414 companion" for the story.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 3414 13.1" (3/24/84): bright, slightly elongated ~N-S, small bright nucleus, fairly small. Forms a pair with NGC 3418 8.5' NNE. Located 18' E of 44 Leonis (V = 5.6). 8": faint, slightly elongated.
