Corwin's Notes

===== NGC 2947 = IC 547 = IC 2494 is the only object that I am currently (May 2003) aware of which has an entry in all three of Dreyer's catalogues. See IC 547 for details.

Steve's Notes

===== NGC 2947 17.5" (3/25/95): fairly faint, round, 1.2' diameter, almost even surface brightness, well-defined outer edge to halo. Two mag 11 stars are off the SE edge 1.6' and 2.1' from the center. Incorrectly listed as nonexistent in the RNGC.
