NGC 2274 and NGC 2275. The UGC and MCG identifications of this close pair are
opposite one another. This has happened in at least two other cases: NGC 980
and 982 where there is indeed an error in the NGC declination for one object,
and NGC 5216 and 5218 where there is only a small error in John Herschel's
1833 list and the reversal of the identifications in MCG. The NGC, however,
is correct in this second case (see the discussions of these objects for the
details).
In the case of N2274 and N2275, there is indeed an error in the NGC, but it is
such a trivial one that I doubt that it led to the MCG reversal (it is indeed
MCG that is incorrect here): the numbers from William Herschel's catalogue
are reversed. JH got them right in his 1833 catalogue (and the GC) when he
listed them under h406 = H II 614 and h407 = H II 615. Dreyer, too, got them
right when he republished William's Scientific Papers in 1912, but did not
mention the earlier mistake in his errata list of that year.
In the end, it is clear that NGC 2274 is the southern and very slightly
preceding of the two. The MCG identifications should be switched.

NGC 2274
24" (1/4/14): moderately bright to fairly bright, moderately large, slightly elongated N-S, sharply concentrated with a round high surface brightness core of 0.4' diameter that gradually increases to the center. Halo increases with averted to 0.9'x0.7'. Brighter of a close pair with NGC 2275 1.9' N. The pair resides in a rich star field with UGC 3537 7.4' NW. This low even surface brightness galaxy appeared very faint, fairly small, round, 24", no concentratin.
18" (3/4/08): moderately bright and large, slightly elongated N-S, 0.9'x0.8', contains a sharply concentrated, bright 25" core and a much fainter halo. Forms a close pair with NGC 2275 1.9' N.
18" (10/21/06): moderately bright, fairly small, round, 0.8'-1' diameter, bright core. This galaxy is slightly brighter than its companion, NGC 2275, located 2' N. The NGC 2288-2294 group lies 45' E.
17.5" (1/19/91): fairly faint, fairly small, round, small bright core. Forms the brighter of a pair with NGC 2275 2' N.
